Family-owned winery, Castello Banfi, in association with Febvre Wines, will provide the wine pairings for our Gourmet Reader's Evening at Glover's Alley.
Castello Banfi, a family-owned vineyard estate and winery is located in the Brunello region of Tuscany. The Mariani family’s dedication to excellence in all aspects has won the approval of aficionados in the wine world, capturing honour after prestigious honour. Castello Banfi was declared “International Winery of the Year” an unprecedented four times at Vinitaly’s International Enological Concourse, which also named Castello Banfi “Italy’s Best Wine Estate” eleven times since 1994.
Clones of the Sangiovese grape, a symbol of Montalcino, embody the classic Castello Banfi red wine - Brunello di Montalcino. The wine is aged in French oak and Slavonian barrels for two years, before a further 8-12 months in the bottle. The ruby red colour reflects the full, soft, velvety and intense palate, with notes of liquorice, black fruits and spices.
Join us at the FOOD&WINE Reader's Evening on 26th June, and learn everything there is to know about Castello Banfi from Febvre's wine educator, Noel MacMahon. Enjoy a four course menu from chef Andy McFadden at Glovers Alley, and of course, fantastic wine pairings from Febvre, to put your new knowledge to the (taste) test!
