The Australian pair own two of country's best vegan eateries: Smith & Daughters and Smith & Deli. Wyse, who is vegan, runs the front of house aspect of the businesses while Martinez, who is decidedly not vegan, controls the kitchen. The rock-n-roll attitude of the pair is reflected in their restaurants, with bright artwork and moody lighting mirroring Martinez and Wyse's punky tattoos and bright hair colours.

This cookbook showcases the food of Smith & Deli, their all-vegan deli that serves massive lines of customers daily. The book's seven chapters cover all the favourites: salads, soups, baked treats, sweet and savoury doughs, meals and basics, which makes it ideal for those just starting out on their vegan lifestyle.
