What a better way to celebrate the end of dry January (if you had taken on that challenge), than by attending a wine tasting event that will present over 250 wines from 40 wineries from across the country of Australia, one of the finest wine producing countries in the world?

The 2019 Australian Wine Tasting takes place in a couple of weeks on Wednesday, 30th January in The Round Room at The Mansion House in Dublin 2. This event is an ideal way to discover what makes Aussie wine unique. You’ll taste many different styles of wines, from classic to contemporary, rogue to the refined.

Find out what makes Aussie wine so exciting at the Australian Wine Tasting in Dublin. There will be over 250 wines from 40 wineries across Australia. This is your chance to meet the people behind the wines, hear their stories and try a diverse range of wines. There really is always something new to discover: at the tasting try new styles and alternative grape varieties like Fiano, Tempranillo, Montepulciano, Mencia and Gewurztraminer and explore less familiar regions like Grampians, Great Southern and Wrattonbully.

One of the Aussies coming over to Dublin is Scott McWilliam, a sixth generation winemaker at McWilliam's Wines. Scott’s first job was in the cellar at the age of fourteen, he went on to study winemaking at the University of Adelaide, then after experience in vineyards in France, he went on to join McWilliam’s prestigious Mount Pleasant winery in the Hunter Valley. Scott will be pouring their unique Hunter Valley Semillon and fresh, fruity styles of Chardonnay and Shiraz from cool climate regions Hilltops and Tumbarumba.
