Parents and Kids Day at The Dockside Deli, Galway

Saturday, January 26th 11.00-15.00

The Dockside Deli, Galway Bay Seafood’s food court and store, will be welcoming parents and children instore over the next three Saturdays. There will be tastings and information available on the day to help parents introduce fish into their children’s diets, plus head chef Kevin Hynes will be in action on the day, showcasing some fresh seafood demos. The drop-in event is free to attend so check it out to see what The Dockside Deli has on offer.

January Wine Club at Lilac Wines, Fairview, Dublin 3

Thursday, January 24th 19:30-21:30

The January Wine Club at Fairview’s Lilac Wines will provide some serious value for money this Saturday. There will be six unusual bottles of wine on offer for tasting, alongside some tasty snacks, for just €15 if you buy your tickets online at Eventbrite, whereas tickets on the night cost €20.

Cocktail Workshop in Aid of Temple Street, Drop Dead Twice, Francis Street, Dublin

Thursday, January 24th 18.00-20.00

This event is promising you cocktails for a cause; the Drop Dead Twice bartenders will be teaching guests to mix three different cocktails using Teeling Whiskey, Ha’penny Gin, and The Dubliner Whiskey, with all proceeds from the event going towards Temple St. Children’s University Hospital. Tickets are priced at just €15 plus VAT, so you might as well go along and support a good cause!

Dublin Tryanuary Pub Crawl with The Five Points Brewing Company

Saturday, January 26th 13.00-18.30

The Five Points Brewing Company is hosting a charity Tryanuary pub crawl around Dundrum, Rathmines and Ranelagh this Saturday. The Tryanuary aspect of the event is all about supporting local businesses, including P. Mac’s in Dundrum, Taphouse in Ranelagh and Blackbird in Rathmines. The event is in aid of the Dublin Simon Community and tickets are priced at €12 per person, with €10 from each ticket going to the charity. Get your tickets on Eventbrite.

Italian Bubbles Tasting Event, Gusto è Restaurant, Belfast

Friday, January 25th 19.00-23.00

This Italian evening in Belfast promises to showcase delicious Italian dishes paired with five glasses of artisan Italian sparkling wine. The food will be prepared by leading Italian chefs Philly d’Uva and Nicola Attianese, while entertainment will be provided by guitar player Luigi Cirillo. The wines will be expertly presented with each course by a sommelier from GreatVine Imports. Tickets cost £53 and can be purchased here.

Horetown House Wellness Workshop, Horetown House, Wexford

Saturday, 26th January 11.30-16.30

This half-day wellness workshop will showcase everything you need for a more zen life: there will be motivational speeches, mindfulness sessions and more, alongside a nourishing lunch prepared by head chef Tim Phelan. The tickets for this retreat cost €80 and can be purchased here.

Irish Whiskey Tasting Evening with Ger Buckley at Taylor's Bar & Beer Garden, Galway

Thursday, January 24th 19.30-21.30

Two Gers will be hosting this event at Taylor’s Bar & Beer Garden in Galway this week. First up in Ger Buckley, Master Cooper at Midleton Distillery, who will be demonstrating coopering and talking about the importance of barrels in Irish whiskey making. The second is Ger Garland, a brand ambassador, who will be leading a whiskey tasting. Also present on the night will be Zofia Zayons, a wine expert, who will be holding a double barrel cabernet sauvignon tasting. Get tickets to this event for just €11 at Eventbrite.

BONUS: Minding My Mind Wellbeing Workshop, Sutton

Sunday, February 3rd 10.00-17.00

We know that this event isn’t strictly taking place this week, but we think you should book places while you still can! This wellbeing workshop, hosted by mental health and wellbeing coach Emma Lloyd, promises to be a day of self care for teens. The workshop will teach young people how to cope with their anxieties and stress through yoga, meditation and mindfulness. There will also be a cooking demonstration with Erica Drum, followed by a nutritious lunch. The event costs €70 per person and can be booked by emailing Emma or through Instagram.
