The FOOD&WINE Awards 2018 in association with Nespresso Professional was a great success. Click through for photos from the event.
The winners of the all-new FOOD&WINE Awards in association with Nespresso were announced at a gala luncheon on Sunday 9th September in The InterContinental Hotel, Ballsbridge, Dublin 4.
The event was attended by Ireland’s top chefs and restaurateurs from across the country and was hosted by broadcaster and publisher, Norah Casey, and comedian and presenter Barry Murphy.
Guests were treated to a five-course meal of incredible Irish produce alongside perfectly matched wines courtesy of wine distributors Barry & Fitzwilliam./p>
An incredible menu that showcased the best of Irish produce was created by the InterContinental Dublin's Executive Chef, Alberto Rossi.
Guests enjoyed a selection of cured meats and crudites while they were being seated, followed by a cured Goatsbridge trout to start with smoked trout caviar, lemon gel and Ballyhack picked herb.
The main course was a pan seared, line caught North Atlantic cod served with seafood raviolo, braised baby gem, celeriac, and a vanilla puree.
A cheese course included the delightful Northern Irish Young Buck cheese, Milleens, and a Mature Durrus, while dessert was be served 'family style' and included a fruit tart, raspberry cheesecake, and a Nespresso tiramisu, infused with the rich aroma and flavour of Ristretto.
