Sheridans Cheesemongers Cornelscourt @dunnesstores wins @guildoffinefood Cheese Shop of the Year across Ireland and UK! There are so many to thank in making Sheridans Cornelscourt #ShopoftheYear, from cheese makers to delivery drivers, they are all dedicated to bringing quality cheese to the Sheridans Counters. From our start in the Galway street markets, to our development into a contemporary cheesemonger, we’ve always been about fighting for raw milk cheese, quality producers, and the traditions of Irish food. Cheese production is tough work and truly a labour of love, and we are lucky to work with cheesemakers that are devoted to their craft. Thanks to Dunnes Stores for fighting the good fight with us and helping to create the space for farmhouse cheeses for so many customers. We hope this award helps to spread quality food awareness and continue the growth of artisan cheese across Ireland and Europe. Thank you Guild of Fine Food for the great experience and for this very exciting award! Sheridans Cheesemongers was set up by brothers Kevin and Seamus Sheridan in 1995 with a farmhouse cheese stall at the Galway Market, before the pair opened a store in Galway. Fiona Corbett joined the team in 1997 and shortly after stores around the country were opened, stocked high with cheeses from Ireland and further afield.  Sheridans Cheesemongers have been working with Dunnes Stores since 2015 and the Cornelscourt outlet opened in 2016 as part of the store's complete revamp. The store was awarded the title of Specialist Cheese Shop of the Year 2019 for its commitment to excellent produce.
