Orange chocolate pots

This Hugo Arnold recipe is a perfect dinner party dessert.

  • 100g sugar
  • 125ml white wine
  • 1 orange, zest only
  • 300ml double cream
  • 80g plain chocolate, grated


  1. Combine the sugar, white wine and zest of the orange and dissolve the sugar over a gentle heat.
  2. Stir in the cream and the grated chocolate and, stirring continuously, melt the chocolate over a gentle heat. As the mixture thickens, about five minutes, and the chocolate melts, withdraw from the heat.
  3. Pour into small pots, set aside to cool and then refrigerate until thick. You don’t need too much of this mixture, it is rather rich.
