Buttermilk mash

No Sunday would be complete without a hearty helping of creamy mash potatoes.

Time: 20 minutes
Difficulty: Easy


  • 900g potato, cut into chunks
  • 50g butter
  • 100ml buttermilk
  • 2 tbsp chopped mixed herb (parsley, dill, chives) - optional


  1. Boil the potatoes in large pan of salted water, with the lid on, for 15-20 mins until soft.
  2. Drain well, return to the pan, and mash until smooth.
  3. Add the butter and Avonmore Buttermilk and gently heat until the butter has melted. Combine until smooth.
  4. Add the chopped herbs and season with salt and pepper.
