Forget about trendy food influencers - the only YouTube channel you need to watch is a beautiful display of Italian Nonnas cooking homemade pasta.

Pasta Grannies is a project by food writer Vicki Bennison, who dedicates her time to finding and filming women who still make pasta by hand - a tradition that is disappearing in Italy.

'Of course pasta making isn't going to die out, but it increasingly is a commercial activity—for chefs, pasta shops and factories—rather than a domestic one," she writes on her website. "So I thought I'd celebrate these women and their skills by filming them."

The result? Moving yet educational videos of some of Italy's most intricate pasta recipes that have been passed down through generations

The Instagram account also shares snippets of the videos. Learn how to make the perfect lasagne, tricky little twirls of cappellati or Su Succu – a saffron and cheese pasta dish from Sardinia.

Bennison has interviewed almost 200 grannies and has 88,000 YouTube subscribers. Want to watch something completely mesmerising? Binge watch Pasta Grannies today.
