The Top Outdoor Dining (And Drinking) Spots in Dublin

Grab a spot on a terrace this summer.

SHARE

There was a time when terraces and outdoors spots were few and far between in Dublin. Not any more: the city seems to be brimming with great open-air spaces and we couldn't be happier.

If you're looking for some al fresco dining or a cocktail or two on a terrace, here are some of the top spots in which to grab a drink and a bite if you’re in the capital. Best make the most of the summer while we have it!

1. The Cocktail Garden at Fade Street Social

A great all-seasons spot on Fade Street, just off George's Street in the south of the city. Along with impressive cocktails, you can have flatbreads and bar bites and there is a menu of tapas-style finger food for groups.

2. Devlin at Layla

Hit the 'burbs and head to Layla's rooftop terrace above the boutique Devlin hotel in Ranelagh. It's open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, with brunch available at weekends and bank holiday Mondays.

3. The Terrace at The Shelbourne

The recently-opened terrace is a beautiful addition to the iconic Shelbourne hotel in the heart of the city. The menu includes a lunch offering and all-day platters - along with, as you might expect, an excellent drinks menu.

4. Asador

A must for barbecue fans, Asador's recently-opened terrace features a new 'bbq bites' menu. The entire terrace is also available to book too if you're thinking summer parties.

5. The Nurserie Terrace at the Dylan

A beautiful spot full of greenery and, hopefully, sunshine. Along with a cocktail menu and Champagne ice pops, you can dine on the terrace until late. There's also a barbecue menu too.

6. The Garden Room, Suesey Street

The new alfresco space in Suesey Street has a retractable roof and seating for 40 people. Chef Richard Stearn presides over a new summer menu created with seasonal Irish produce.

One to keep an eye out for: Central Plaza

It may not be open yet but Central Plaza  - the former Central Bank building on Dame Street  - looks set to be a major venue for locals and visitors alike. We're most excited about getting a look at the rooftop bar which is bound to have some of the best views of the city.
