Chateau Musar in Lebanon and Chateau Montelena in the Napa Valley are two of the world-famous vineyards that will be celebrated in a series of wine dinners in Dublin next year.
Tickets are on sale now for the events – last minute Christmas gift, anyone? - which will take place in Wilde, the restaurant at the Westbury Hotel in Dublin city centre, between January and June.
Prices range from €60 to €175 per person, and the series kicks off on January 23 with Tarek Sakr, the head winemaker at Chateau Musar.
Sakr will introduce five vintages, including the renowned Chateau Musar 1979, and will talk guests through the history and development of this unique winery in the Bekka Valley. Tickets are €85 including a welcome cocktail, and dinner with matched wines.
The other events take place on February 5 (Bruce Cakebread of Cakebread Cellars in Napa); April 14 (Julio Saenz of La Rioja Alta); April 30 (Leon Karatsalos of Gaia in Greece), and June 2 (Bo Barrett of Chateau Montelena).
The series is being organised by Philip Dunne, head sommelier at the Westbury.
