Galway’s Tribe Hospitality Group has been awarded All-Ireland Business All-Star accreditation, joining hundreds of other companies that have been given the prestigious quality mark.
Tribe Hospitality runs six eateries in the Galway including Mr Waffle , Ground + Co, and Saol Café and employs 100 people. It’s grown 70% in the last three years and the estimated turnover for 2020 is e5 million. Investment in staff seems to be a priority for the company. It has developed its own academy and also focuses on staff wellbeing with funded staff gym sessions and business and personal development programmes.
“We wanted to be more than just a place of work; our staff are the fundamental reason why our business has grown,” explains Tribe Hospitality’s Kevin Nugent. “We want to see people thriving. Making your team feel heard and seen is when they flourish.”
The All-Ireland Business All-Star accreditation is an independently verified standard mark for businesses and is overseen by the All-Ireland Business Foundation. Over 350 firms hold the accreditation, which is a reassuring benchmark of quality for the public and those within the industry. Dr Briga Hynes of the Kemmy Business School at the University, who sits on the adjudication panel of All-Ireland Business Foundation, explains the rigorous process businesses go through:
“We evaluate a company’s background, trustworthiness and performance, and we speak to customers, employees and vendors. We also anonymously approach the company as a customer and report back on the experience. The business goes through at least two interviews and is scored on every part of the process against set metrics.”
