Food for Thought Dinner in L'Ecrivain in aid of Suicide Prevention Charity 3Ts

The sixth in a series of dining events organised by chef collective Food For Thought in aid of the suicide prevention charity, 3Ts – turn the tide of suicide – will take place in Michelin-starred restaurant L'Ecrivain on February 3rd.

Food for Thought (FFT) is an initiative set up by chef Daniel Hannigan of Richmond restaurant in Portobello, Dublin, with the aim of inviting chefs, restaurants, front of house teams and suppliers from all over Ireland to collaborate in creating unique pop-up fine dining events.

Daniel lost his own father to suicide when he was just five years old. He is conscious of the stresses that his own industry brings on young chefs and other staff. Through these events, he sought to bring people together, to socialise, enjoy an evening of amazing food and also to open up the conversation around mental health and suicide. 

Daniel and his team have held five incredible pop-up dinner events already in aid of 3Ts over the past year, bringing together some of the country’s top chefs to showcase their talents whilst raising funds for the suicide charity. The previous events have been held at various venues, from The Pigeon House in Delgany to Locks Restaurant on the Grand Canal, and the most recent event was held in Mulberry Gardens in Dublin 4, which included a star-studded line-up of chefs – Ciaran Sweeney, Forest & Marcy, Aoife Noonan, Glovers Alley, Killian Crowley, Aniar, Damien Grey, Heron & Grey, and Patrick Ryan, Firehouse Bakery. 

The line-up for this next event is equally as impressive with Carlo Rubino, sous chef in Restaurant Patrick Guilbaud, Tanya Brennan, pastry chef in One Pico, Darren Hogarty, pastry chef in Chapter One, Eric Matthews, head chef in Chapter One, Rob Krawczyk, owner and chef of Restaurant Chestnut, Grainne O'Keefe, head chef in Clanbrassil House and culinary director of Bujo Burger Joint, and Zhan Takayuki Yanagiba from L'Ecrivain. 

Tickets for the sixth event, which takes place on Sunday, 3rd February in Derry and Sally Anne Clarke's L'Ecrivain restaurant, go on sale at 10am tomorrow morning (Monday, 7th January) on Eventbrite, priced at €120.
