Calling all gin lovers!
There's a lot to love about St. Patrick's Day. For starters, it's a nationwide holiday which means you get the day off work; there's a parade; it's an opportunity to go to the pub with your friends and family; it’s a day of celebration and fun, but it’s also a day to recognise and appreciate our identity and Irish history. And it's also the one time of year a concoction of ice cream, milk and mint are blended to creamy perfection and dubbed the shamrock shake.
While this year's St. Patrick's Day may not have a parade, you won't be able to see your friends or family and the pubs will be closed, sipping on a delicious shamrock shake is still possible – and no, you don't have to be near a McDonald's to enjoy it.
With a reputation for pushing the boundaries of flavour when crafting their range of award-winning spirits, Blacks (Ireland's first co-located brewery & distillery) has just launched a limited-edition Shamrock Gin.
Created especially for St. Patrick's Day as part of Blacks Experimental Series, the result is Shamrock Infused Gin, a product that needs little in the way of an introduction other than to say it is green, alcoholic and guaranteed to go down well on March 17.
But if you're wondering what does one drink with shamrock-infused gin...Blacks has you covered there too. To ensure the perfect serve, this limited-edition St. Patrick’s Day spirit comes with the essentials to make a boozy Shamrock Shake: Blacks Shamrock Gin (70cl) and a bottle of Monin Frosted Mint Syrup (70cl). All you have to do is add ice and fresh lemon.
This special offer is available exclusively through the Blacks online store and retails at €47. See blacksbrewery.com for more information.
But if you're eager to make your own shamrock shake at home, Blacks have kindly shared their recipe for a their boozy shamrock shake below.
