There are some great Irish businesses championing a greener lifestyle and one, reuzi, is making the leap from online retailer to real-life shop.
The minimal waste online shop is about to open a bricks and mortar store in Foxrock, Dublin. The shop has been fitted out using upcycled and recycled materials and wonder Pat Kane enlisted the help of friends and family to ensure the shop kept a low carbon footprint. Originally from Brazil Pat is a mum of two and becoming a parent made her realise the amount of waste and rubbish they family was using every day.

She says, “My initial reaction was to educate myself on recycling and composting. Our end goal as a family is to replace everything that won’t be recycled or composted with reusable alternatives. It was because of this personal journey, I decided to create reuzi in 2018.”
The online shop has been a huge success, with bestsellers including reusable coffee cups, bamboo cutlery and beeswax food wraps. The Foxrock shop has over 350 products and will also be a centre of education. Pat will also be running a full calendar of workshops on topics such as recycling, eco-living and making your kitchen more sustainable.
Pat says, “I want to get to know people in the local community and to find out more about their own ways to create a positive impact and share our knowledge to become more eco-friendly together.”
