The August issue of FOOD&WINE Magazine will be available this Sunday and we're delighted to announce that chef and business owner Domini Kemp is our new resident chef.
Recipes are the backbone of FOOD&WINE Magazine, especially in a seafood-themed edition. This month's recipes are particularly delicious and that's all down to our brand new resident chef Domini Kemp.
While she may be new to FOOD&WINE Magazine, we reckon Domini isn't new to our readers: as well as being an award-winning chef, food writer and entrepreneur, she is the co-founder of ITSA, Hatch & Sons, Alchemy Juice Co and Joe's, as well as Feast catering and events.
She also developed the PEP Entrepreneur Programme in Wheatfield Prison, which was recently turned into a 4- part documentary, "Prison Breaks" on Virgin Media, looking at ways to reduce the cost of recidivism through entrepreneurial activities for prisoners upon release.
Well used to food writing and recipe creation, Domini has written five cookbooks, including 'How I Like To Cook', 'Real Food, Real Fast', and 'The Ketogenic Kitchen', which was a bestseller in Ireland and the US.
The August issue of FOOD&WINE Magazine, the tenth since the publication went back into print, is focused on seafood. As an island nation, we are curiously hesitant when it comes to dealing with seafood, one of our most bountiful resources. Thankfully, this issue looks at seafood in all shapes and forms, sharing chef-recommended dining destinations, wines to enjoy with seafood and, of course, seafood recipes.
In her first column, Domini has shared four delicious recipes with us: spaghetti with crab and an anchovy crumb, mussels with chorizo, tomato and picada sauce, fish tacos, and poached apricots with mascarpone and lime. They're perfect for this time of year and are ideal for those that are a little hesitant around seafood.
We can't wait to see the sort of dishes Domini has in store for us over the next few months, so to get a taste of her culinary style, make sure to pick up a copy of the seafood-themed edition of FOOD&WINE Magazine, free with the Business Post this Sunday, August 1. You can also subscribe at businesspost.ie/select-plan to read online and access all of the previous issues of FOOD&WINE Magazine - only €1 for the first month.
