Moyee Coffee, an Irish social enterprise which produces ethical FairChain coffee has just launched a monthly subscription service.
The company was set up by Shane Reilly and Killian Stokes after Stokes came across an Ethiopian-Dutch collaboration while meeting coffee farmers in Ethiopia. He and Reilly teamed up with Moyee Netherlands founder Guido van Staveren van Dijk to launch Moyee Coffee in Ireland and the UK.
Hailed as the world's first FairChain coffee the Moyee model aims to help rebalance the coffee production supply chain. It provides a sustainable living income to the communities it sources its product from. As well as sourcing beans from farmers, the company has based all elements of the production process (processing and packing) in the local area, which also helps to support communities. This all contributes to a circular economy and sustainable production system.
The new coffee subscription service has a range of options. Impact Champion is priced from €24.75 and includes 1kg of your preferred coffee per month, while Impact Hero (from €49.50) provides 2kg of coffee. Each box also contains a monthly impact update about the FairChain mission and as well as a newsletter, and annual gift there are discounts on coffee gear and machines and first access to seasonal microlots. Delivery is free in Ireland and the UK.
