To celebrate its 125th anniversary, Le Cordon Bleu has announced two new international culinary competitions.
Founded in 1895, Le Cordon Bleu now has more than 35 schools in 20 countries and is the world's leading network of culinary arts and hotel management institutes. Over 20,000 students are trained every year in the various schools across the world, with former graduates including the likes of Mary Berry, Julia Child and Yotam Ottolenghi.
To celebrate the institute's historic anniversary, Le Cordon Bleu has announced that it is launching two exciting competitions to celebrate culinary excellence around the world.

The first, called the Future Talents competition, is open to anyone over 18 years old who is looking for a career in hospitality. The winner will have the chance to undertake the coveted Grande Diplôme course, which comprises of Diplôme de Cuisine and Diplôme de Pâtisserie. Second and third place will be offered the chance to study for a certificate in basic cuisine and basic pâtisserie respectively. The competition heats will take place in 16 Le Cordon Bleu campuses around the world before the top candidate from each round travels to the flagship institute in Paris to take part in the grand finale on October 15th.
The second competition, aptly named the Alumni Trophy of Excellence, will invite all graduates of the Le Cordon Bleu culinary diploma to compete for a chance to win the coveted trophy for either cuisine or pâtisserie. The semi-finals will take place in eight institutes around the world, with two candidates per campus – one for cuisine and one for pâtisserie – will be invited to take part in the finale on October 15th.

Applications for both competitions are now open and to apply candidates must register online by May 3rd 2020 and fill in an application form. Semi-finalists will be announced on May 20th before the local semi-finals take place between June 22nd and July 3rd 2020. The regional finalists for each competition will be announced on July 7th before the grand finale takes place in Paris on October 15th of this year.
