Jamie Oliver is to open a new restaurant in Dublin

The popular chef is coming to Dublin city centre.

Celebrity chef, Jamie Oliver has announced he is to open a new restaurant on Dublin’s Exchequer Street with Irish business partner Gerry Fitzpatrick.

The 100-seater Chequer Lane By Jamie Oliver is set to create around 30 jobs and is expected to open in April 2020. The new comes ten months after the collapse of much of Jamie’s restaurant empire although Jamie’s Italian Dundrum in Dublin's Dundrum Town Centre remained open.

Chequer Lane will have a focus on Irish produce, working with local suppliers across food and drink. Speaking about the new venture, Jamie said: “The menu will be packed with big, hearty flavours and simple, seasonal ingredients. The food I really love to cook and diners love to eat. Ireland has some of the greatest produce in the world and we can’t wait to show it off.”

The menu will feature rock oysters, beef cooked using a robata grill, monkfish and scampi along with seasonal dishes, and a weekend menu will include brunch dishes and traditional roasts.

The restaurant is currently hiring for a number of positions including head chef, sous chefs, managers in addition to hospitality roles. Applications can be sent to [email protected]
