Teeling Whiskey has released the final single malt in the limited edition Brabazon Bottling series.

Series 4 is the fourth bottling in the award-winning range which has focused on expanding the underdeveloped Irish single malt category. These new expressions explore the effect that fortified wines can have on whiskey.

Jack Teeling, founder and managing director of Teeling Whiskey, said of the new launch, “This is a fitting end to our award-winning series which celebrates the combination of old and new as well as highlighting our unique approach to making Irish whiskey and our spirit of innovation.”

For the 13-year-old Series 4 single malt, Teeling sourced rare Carcavelos port barrels. Carcavelos is a style of Portuguese fortified wine that dates back to the 18th century and is produced on a small, artisanal scale today. The barrels were filled with a Teeling single malt which was distilled in 2007 and left for over two years. The resulting whiskey has soft citrus fruit notes and distinctive spices.

Limited to 10,000 bottles and bottled at 49.5% Brabazon Bottling, Series 4 is €95 and is available now. For more go to teelingwhiskey.com
