M&S launches a new digital rewards scheme

The retailer has also introduced a new digital app too

Marks & Spencer Ireland has just launched a new customer loyalty programme, along with a new phone app that aims to make shopping easier.

The digital-first Sparks loyalty scheme will provide special offers tailored to how each customer shops and there's the chance to pick up rewards too. Members can also opt to support a range of Irish charities - and each week one customer in every M&S store in Ireland will receive their shopping for free. Smaller gifts, from tote bags to packets of Percy Pigs, will also be up for grabs, while special offers can be tailored to what you actually want to buy.

Through the Sparks programme, M&S will make a 1c donation to an Irish charity every time a customer shops. There are five organisations to choose from: Marie Keating Foundation, A Lust for Life, Focus Ireland, Leave No Trace Ireland and Alzheimer Society of Ireland. Customers will be able to choose which charity they want to support - in the UK, a similar initiative has donated a whopping £10million to UK charities.

And, while we’ll always love a bricks-and-mortar shop undoubtedly many of us also shop online too - M&S.com/ie saw 692,000 customers during the pandemic (from March 2020). The retailer's new digital app aims to make it easier to shop online but customers can also use it to check their Spark offers, find out further product info in-store and more.
