Global food symposium Food on the Edge (FOTE) heads to London this month. The launch takes place in London-based Irish chef Robin Gill’s newly-opened restaurant, Darby’s.
Guest speakers at Food On The Edge London on the 20th of May include Tom Brown, Skye Gyngell, Pierre Koffmann and Doug McMaster. An array of signature snacks, prepared by London-based Irish chefs Robin Gill, Kevin Burke, Anna Haugh, Aidan McGee and Shauna Froydenlund, will showcase quality Irish food.
Symposium Director, JP McMahon said:
“We are delighted to bring Food On The Edge
to London. This year we introduce the theme of 'Migration' - migration of produce, people and food culture - so it is fitting that we will celebrate Irish produce and Irish chefs in London.”2
The London event will also mark the international launch of this year’s Food On The Edge. The popular event, which takes place in Galway every year, generates debate and discussion on the future of food both in the industry and on the planet as a whole.
More than 600 people attended Food On The Edge 2018, which was held in the National University of Ireland, Galway. Over 50 of the world’s best chefs and food leaders shared their food stories across the two days, while around 70 Irish food producers featured in the Artisan Food Village.
FOTE 2019 will take place on the 21st and 22nd of October in Galway city (venue TBC). The two-day programme will feature talks, panel discussions, masterclasses and networking activity, with an artisan food village showcasing the best of Irish food.
