It’s been quite a year for Irish chef Donal Skehan. As well as navigating Covid-19 like the rest of us, Donal, his wife Sofie and their two young sons made the move home from Los Angeles back in April.
Now he’s returning to our TV screens too, with a new series starting on RTE tonight, Wednesday 21 October. As the name might suggest, Donal’s Family Food in Minutes is all about cooking for the family, and covers everything from quick mid-week dinners to the perfect Sunday roast.
Speaking about his new show Donal said, “This entire show is about making life easy in the kitchen. I want people to come away from watching this series with a playbook of classic family recipes that they’ll use time and time again.”
The first episode is packed with great meal ideas, including this ‘Damn good shepherd's pie’ and we have the recipe right here for you to try!
Donal has also just launched a new subscription-based meal planning website called Donal's Kitchen, with how-to videos, recipes and more. You can check it out here.
Donal’s Family Food in Minutes is on Wednesdays from 21st October at 8.30pm on RTÉ One.
