What could make Cloud Picker Café on Pearse Street even better? A killer cake selection, which will shortly be on offer in store thanks to pastry queen Aoife Noonan.
Previously named our pastry chef of the year at the 2018 F&W Awards, Aoife Noonan is easily one of the best pastry chefs in the country. She honed her craft for four years as executive pastry chef at Restaurant Patrick Guilbaud, which holds two Michelin stars, as well as various other Dublin hotspots. On top of this, Aoife recently started a masters degree in culinary nutrition, meaning we haven't seen her working in a restaurant for a while.
Luckily, Peter Sztal and Frank Kavanagh of Cloud Picker Coffee reached out to Aoife with an amazing collaboration in mind: Aoife will be in residence every Tuesday and Thursday at Cloud Picker Café on Pearse Street from 11am on August 11th, whipping up gorgeous cakes and chatting to customers - through the appropriate perspex protective screens - until her creations are sold out.

Curious to see what Aoife has planned? She'll be kicking off with the following cakes:
- Cloud Picker Coffee cake: Chocolate and vanilla layered sponges, hazelnut praline, coffee buttercream, chocolate coffee beans and toasted hazelnuts.
- Strawberry lemonade cake: Lemon sponge and strawberry vanilla buttercream, with pink, orange and yellow ombré buttercream, decorated with vanilla buttercream swirls and raspberries.
- Chocolate and Harry’s Nut Butter cake: Chocolate sponge, peanut butter buttercream, candied peanuts.
- Raspberry tart: Pâté sucrée base, pistachio cremeux with fresh raspberries, raspberry jam and crystallised pistachios.
We reckon these perfect pastries will sell out quickly, so if you want to get your hands on some of Aoife's treat, you'll need to get to Cloud Picker Café early on August 11th.
