A brand new Californian inspired snack food from the duo behind Fulfil bars and celebrity chef Donal Skehan recently launched in the Irish market.
Tom Gannon and Niall McGrath, who founded Fulfil, have teamed up with Donal Skehan to launch Cali Cali, a new healthy snack food brand inspired by the street food markets of California.
The brand officially launched with a two-day pop-up at Permanent TSB on Dublin's Grafton Street, where visitors could sample products and take part in a range of cooking demos with Donal Skehan. The first 50 lucky visitors were also given a Cali Cali hamper to take home so that they could try the full range of products.
This new guilt-free snacking brand has already released several innovative treats, including healthy crisps and a range of flavourful sauces.
The new crisps are available in four flavours: Golden State tangy cheese and onion, Tijuana hot sauce, Baja buffalo chipotle and Thai Town sweet chilli. Pitched as a healthy alternative to existing products, Cali Cali crisps promise that they don't use preservatives or MSG in their products, and that the baked crisps, which are made from chickpea flour, rice flour and beans, are gluten-free.
The hot sauces, which sound absolutely delicious, are also available in a range of flavours, including San Diego peri-peri, Tijuana hot sauce, Frisco hot wing, LA Street Food Sriracha and Baja chipotle salsa.
The new products are now available at supermarkets, including Dunnes Stores and SuperValu, petrol stations like Circle K and more. Over the next year or so, the team hope to roll out their products across Europe, before venturing into the UK market, depending on the outcome of Brexit.
The team also hope to team up with further brand in the future to create even more healthy products. “Our business approach has seen us collaborate with some of Ireland’s favourite brands, which is such an exciting springboard for Cali Cali," said Tom Gannon, co-founder of Cali Cali, about their collaborations.
