The toastie game is strong at Bobby's in Dublin city centre, where chef Holly Dalton is now looking after the food.
Dalton, who previously ran the kitchen at Gertrude on Pearse Street, has come up with a new lunch menu that includes three toasties, and we're planning to try the one with Coolattin cheddar, Toonsbridge mozzarella and truffle miso mustard on sourdough first. Next on our list? The Connemara air-dried ham, Coolatin cheddar, onion marmalade, tarragon mustard and gherkin sandwich on foccacia.
Salads and soups will change with the seasons. The current salad is made with roast carrot and anise purée, pickled beetroot, baby kale, chard and Cais na Tire cheese with a dill dressing, and the soup is parsnip and apple with a smoked almond crumb and chive oil. Need something veggie? Try the chickpea and watercress sandwich with fermented hot sauce and pickled peppers.

A tenner will get you a sandwich and a half portion of either soup or salad at lunchtime, while glasses of wine start from €7, with four wines on tap and seven by the bottle. Lunch is served Tuesday to Friday from 12pm to 2.30pm, with wines, bites, snacks and boards served from 5pm Tuesday to Saturday.
