We love to see new food products popping up in the market. So many have become available in the past few months that we love so we decided to list out some of our favourites for you to try.
We're becoming so well-known for our food that many Irish products are now in high demand in other countries – did you know that Kerrygold is Germany's number one butter? It seems that every other day a new product launches on the market here and we absolutely love seeing how creative producers in this country are. With that in mind, we decided to round up some of our favourite new products for you to try; we think they're delicious, so we bet you will too!
Ballymaloe Relish is already a staple in our diet, so we were excited when we heard that the brand was bringing out a small-batch mayo. Made with extra virgin olive oil, Irish free-range eggs and cracked black pepper, you can really taste the quality of the ingredients in this mayo. It's not too rich, too light or too creamy – as Goldilocks would say, it's just right. We love lashing this mayo onto a burger or tuna sandwich, but it tastes like it would go with just about everything.
The Sweet Potato Pizza Co. Pizzas
Made with a sweet potato base, these pizzas are the first of their kind in Ireland and are available in Supervalu stores as part of the Supervalu Food Academy. There are three topping combinations available, including Parma ham, mushrooms and rocket, sundried tomato, red onion and spinach and, our favourite, chorizo, feta cheese and spinach. The best part about these pizzas is that they're actually pretty healthy so you can feel like you're being very virtuous while enjoying something that's usually classed as a 'treat' meal. Moo'd Irish Gelato
Originating in Cavan, Moo'd has outlets all around the country that offer a range of ice creams, including gelato, whipped ice cream and sundaes. The company has recently launched take-home versions of its gelato, which combine Italian flair with Irish traditions. The new gelato is available in three flavours – cookies and cream, Madagascan vanilla and mint chocolate chip – which can be found in select Centra and SuperValu stores around the country.
The Plant Kitchen Cashew Milk From M&S
The alternative milk craze doesn't look like it's going anywhere, which is good news for vegans and dairy intolerant people alike, so we're pleased to see a reliable product available on the market. This cashew drink is fortified with iodine, the first alternative milk to do so, which is a key mineral often missing from non-dairy kinds of milk.
Glenisk GO20 Protein Pots
Glenisk's GO20 pots are ideal for breakfast on-the-go. Containing 20g protein per cup, each yoghurt and granola pot is packed with flavour as well as being pretty good for you. Available in two different flavours, mixed berry granola and dark chocolate coconut granola, these pots are high in protein and fibre, as well as absolutely delicious. The brand is also planning to launch a new flavour at the end of the month, so keep your eyes peeled for Glenisk's new pot which combines 0% fat vanilla yoghurt with caramel chia granola.
We're so obsessed with Clintons Crisps right now that we actually have a few bags stashed in the corner of the office in case of an emergency. The artisan crisps, which are based in Skerries, are available in three flavours – sea salt and vinegar, mature cheddar and red onion, and our favourite seared steak – that are gluten-free and made with no artificial flavours, preservatives or GMO ingredients. You can find Clintons Crisps in supermarkets around the country, so we recommend you try a bag ASAP.
Turmeric is one of our favourite ingredients at the minute, as we've all been trying to fight off colds and flu for the past while. Mutonics' Jamu is a delicious turmeric-based tonic that helps to put a bit of pep in your step as it's packed with antioxidants and anti-inflammatory properties. Mutonics' Jamu is available at speciality and independent stores around the country, but we expect that this year will be a big one for the company.

Promise Gluten-Free Bread
Promise, one of Ireland's best gluten-free brands, recently announced that it was planning to launch three new breads to the Irish market, including vegan white bread, a multigrain loaf and a chia and quinoa loaf. Promise's gluten-free products are always of a really high quality and very closely replicate gluten-containing products, so we're excited about these new additions, especially the delicious-sounding chia and quinoa loaf.
Glenilen Farm Live Yogi
Another new yoghurt that we love, the Glenilen Farm Live Yogi range has been specifically designed with little ones in mind. Made with live natural yoghurt and no nasties, the yoghurts are available in strawberry, banana and vanilla flavours. These nutritional yoghurts were specifically created to prevent children from snacking on unhealthy treats, but we think grown-ups will love them too.
Frank and Honest Cold Brew Range
Frank and Honest serve up some seriously delicious coffee, so we were delighted to hear that they were set to launch a range of cold brew coffees, which come in three varieties: Cold Brew Coffee Original, Cold Brew Coffee Mocha and Cold Brew Coffee with Coconut. These drinks are super refreshing and perfect for sunny days like today when you just need a little boost to get through the day.
