This weekend will see southsiders say a final goodbye to The Bernard Shaw and Eatyard as the successful Bodytonic ventures shut up shop on South Richmond Street and head to their new home in Dublin 9.
Earlier this year, the whole city was up in arms when it was announced that The Bernard Shaw and Eatyard on South Richmond Street were being forced to close due to a lease agreement. While we all mourned the loss of one of the city centre's true gems, the Bodytonic team were quietly working away in the background to ensure that we wouldn't fully lose Eatyard and The Bernard Shaw.
It was announced that the new Bernard Shaw and Eatyard will be opening up at Crossguns Bridge, beside the Royal Canal on the Phibsborough/Glasnevin border, on November 15th. While we don't have many details on the new iteration of The Bernard Shaw, the Bodytonic team have revealed that the new Eatyard will be still full of great food and drink, so we have nothing to fear.

Eatyard is known as one of the coolest spots in Dublin, serving up tasty grub and perfect tipples, as well as playing host to a range of cool events like the Eatyard Wine & Cheese Festival. We've been assured that the new Eatyard will be much of the same, with new vendors promising fantastic new flavours.
The iconic Big Blue Bus will be parking up at the new location to serve up their much-loved pizza, while vegan bakery, and former Eatyard stallholder, Buttercream Dream will make its triumphant return to the new marketplace.
New additions include Cork's My Goodness, which are known for their raw, vegan, fermented food. Vegans will be in good company at the new Eatyard because as well as the former, The Saucy Cow, which is known for its vegan comfort food, will be on-site when the new location opens. La Cocina Cuevas, which serves up Californian-inspired Mexican tacos, will also be joining the line-up.
Eatyard was special in that it helped to bring some of the country's best street food-style vendors to a new audience. Former residents like Vish Shop, Just Wing It, Kale + Coco and Sweet Churro all opened their own spots in Dublin after being part of the Eatyard family, showing just how special the venture is.
While we're sad to lose the original Eatyard and Bernard Shaw, it seems that the new version will hit the ground running come November 15th. It's sure to be a really exciting time for the venture, so we can't wait to see it when it opens.
In the meantime, make sure to get down to Eatyard this weekend as it will close its doors for the final time on Sunday, October 27th. Expect a big crowd because we can't imagine that it will go out without a bang! The Bernard Shaw will close up shop on Sunday, November 3rd.
