Before setting off for CATEX 2019 in the RDS last week, Nespresso held an exclusive breakfast event at Restaurant Patrick Guilbaud in Dublin 2 at which Patrick Guilbaud spoke to guests about his recent trip to Colombia with Nespresso.
The two Michelin star Restaurant Patrick Guilbaud was the location for an early morning breakfast get-together hosted by Nespresso Professional. A rare treat, as Restaurant Patrick Guilbaud does not serve breakfast, guests were welcomed by Gordon Thompson, the Commercial Manager for Nespresso Professional Ireland, and by Patrick Guilbaud, Nespresso Ambassador.
Chef Patrick Guilbaud spoke to guests about his trip to Colombia to experience the Nespresso AAA Sustainable Quality Program™ coffee production first-hand.
A short video showing the highlights of Patrick’s visit to Jardin, Colombia where Patrick visited the Nespresso Coffee Plantations, the Community Mill and met with Nespresso farmer Humberto Galeano Sanchez closed out to a round of applause. Patrick spoke to guests about his firsthand experience of how the Nespresso AAA Sustainable Quality Program ™ is benefitting the coffee farmers, the farming landscape and the quality of the coffee beans.
Afterwards, a delicious breakfast starter of tropical fruit salad was served with freshly squeezed orange juice and a selection of Viennoiseries, this was followed by a main course of Eggs Benedict and a choice of Nespresso coffees, the Exclusive Selection Nepal Lamjung and Nespresso Exclusive Selection Kenya Milima.
The Exclusive Selection coffees have been created to pair with the particular tastes and flavours of haute cuisine. Cultivated from rare beans, the Exclusive Selections are only available in Michelin starred restaurants worldwide. Nespresso Exclusive Selection Nepal Lamjung is a rare single origin coffee, grown and harvested in the unique and remote Himalayan foothills. It has a generous intense flavour, gifted with fresh notes of toasted bread and a supple texture. Nespresso Exclusive Selection Kenya Milima is a juicy coffee with notes of lemon and wonderful acidity.
Guests included Michelin starred Chef Aidan McGrath from the Wild Honey Inn, Chef Gareth Mullin from The Marker Hotel, Chef Chris McGowan from Wine & Brine Restaurant in Armagh. Aisling O’Kennedy along with her colleagues Cailin Keaney and Derek Reilly from Aramark enjoyed the morning also.
