While this technically isn't truly the first Matty Fest – he did host a Matty Fest party for his birthday in his former restaurant Parts & Labour – this is the first festival that will be available to the public. The festival is said to be inspired by hardcore music shows that Matty held in the basement of his restaurant, so expect music to be front and centre, as well as gorgeous food.

Matty has promised appearances from over a dozen of his friends and chefs and two stages showcasing internationally renowned music acts including Wu Tang Clan and punk band Descendents, plus a performance of sorts from the chef himself. In terms of food, there will be three pit-masters at the festival highlighting the art of real low'n'slow barbecue, as well as a range of pop-up eateries, including homestyle restaurant Donna's, gourmet hotdog company Kung Fu Dawg and more.
