Hot on the heels of the news that his restaurant empire has collapsed, Jamie Oliver will be taking time out to discuss his life and career in a new documentary.
The Channel 4 programme, 20 Years of The Naked Chef: Jamie Bares All will see Oliver discuss his life and career with presenter Davina McCall. The documentary will go behind the scenes of the Oliver empire, spending time with Oliver, his wife Jools, and their five children. 20 years since "The Naked Chef'' and I think it's fair to say a lot has happened in that time. Naturally its a moment of reflection and so when @channel4 said they wanted to create a show looking at my 20 year journey, I knew @davinamccall would be the best person to guide me and the audience through it all. Its been an absolute pleasure to work with her, invite her into my life and just talk. I hope you all enjoy looking back with me and Davina, remembering the amazing times, talking about the tough time and looking at the future too. Watch out for '20 years of The Naked Chef: Jamie bares all' out later this year everyone... JO xx
It’s been two decades since a fresh-faced Oliver first hit our screens with his cheery charm and accessible cooking style. Following his accidental discovery - he was spotted in the background of a 1997 documentary on The River Cafe - Oliver arrived with a bang with his breakout show, The Naked Chef in 1999.
Since then he has seen his career soar, encompassing everything from books, kitchen utensils and personal appearances to TV shows and the ill-fated restaurant chain, not to mention his passionate campaigning to improve school dinners. However, along with the successes have come some significant lows - including the recent loss of his much-loved restaurant empire.
As yet, there’s no date for when the documentary will air but it promises to be an interesting insight into one of the biggest names in food.
