Three exciting ways to #ShopForIreland today

Cocktails, cakes and chicken, oh my!

SHARE

Even though we're all practicing physical distancing and most of us are working from home, we still want to help support Irish food and drink producers.

We've decided to help our readers #ShopForIreland, so we'll be posting every day to highlight great food and drink businesses around the country. Get in touch on our social channels with your suggestions on who we should write about.

The L Mulligan Grocer cocktail kit, deliveries nationwide

Hands up if you’d like a box containing everything you need to make four delicious cocktails with Irish spirits and seasonal ingredients delivered to your door? Now take your hands down and use them to order one of the cocktail kits which the owner of L Mulligan Grocer in Dublin, Seaneen O’Sullivan, is offering for nationwide delivery.

Each week the box will feature a different base spirit along with Irish liqueurs, cordials and different garnishes. The current box, for example, is focused on gin, specifically Dingle Gin, and includes the ingredients for two different cocktails – a rhubarb and rose gin sour, and a cucumber, elderflower and mint gin gimlet. Each box is €40 including delivery anywhere within Ireland, and you can order at lmulliganwhiskeyshop.com.

Poulet Bonne Femme, selected delivery and collection areas

The team behind the free range rotisserie chicken business Poulet Bonne Femme are offering a range of collection and delivery services for anyone who can’t make it to their shops in Avoca branches in Dublin and along the east coast.

You can order and pay for collection over the phone, for example, then pull up and have your order loaded into your car. Alternatively, log onto pouletbonnefemme.com to order online for collection or delivery, or download the new app.

Alaska Bakes, deliveries in Dublin and Wicklow

If you’re craving cakes and cookies, or would like to send a treat to someone who is cocooning, the treat boxes from the Wicklow-based Alaska Bakes could be just the thing. Choose from a box of eight cookies, or four mini cake loaves, for €15 each, or order a selection of individual items.

We can highly recommend the toasted pecan and chocolate chunk cookies, and the tangy jaffa mini loaves. You can see the full range here. For now deliveries are available in Dublin and Wicklow only, but that may be expanded in the future.
