Great new ways to #ShopForIreland today

Easy home baking, cocktails to your door and Dublin favourite is back up and running

SHARE

Even though we're all still practising social distancing and most of us are working from home, we still want to help support Irish food and drink producers.

We've decided to help our readers #ShopForIreland so we'll be posting every day to highlight producers around Ireland. Get in touch on our social channels with your suggestions on who we should write about.

Brother Hubbard to Go

The much loved Brother Hubbard North and South cafes in Dublin city centre are both back up and running. There's a large menu of treats and Farmhand coffees on offer along with an array of brunch, lunch and dinner dishes. You can pre-order for collection, order takeaway when you get there or there’s online delivery available too. Check out the website for the full menu and opening times.

Vintage Cocktail Club

If you’ve been missing the concoctions at the Vintage Cocktail Club, we have some good news - you can now have them delivered to your door! Served in biodegradable pouches, each cocktail is made by VCC’s General Manager, Gareth Lambe, and his wife Annmarie (so no batch or pre-made drinks!). The cocktails come with serving instructions as well as hand-carved block ice, garnish, and nibbles to have on the side. You can order single cocktails from the menu or there are the VCC Pouch Party Packs (€55 for 4 / €85 for 6, plus delivery) and VCC Bottle Serves which (Serves 4, €55 plus delivery). Go to vintagecocktailclub.com  for all the info.

Burren Wild Baker cake mixes

Kasha Connolly, co-owner, baker and chocolatier at Hazel Mountain Chocolate has launched pre-made cake mixes based on her signature gluten-free cakes the Burren Bakery’s cafe. The range includes carrot cake, chocolate brownie and lemon drizzle cake and, as Kasha explains, the mixes are very adaptable. The brownie recipes can be upgraded with caramel, salt or nuts while the lemon cake works well as a sponge base to sandwich with cream and fruit. Basically,  it’s the hard work taken out of baking while keeping the creativity! The cake mixes are available from Avoca stores and also here.
