At some point, our world will return to normal - even if it is a new normal. But where will we go for our first night out?
We asked some well-known names in the Irish food and drinks industry to tell us what they're planning when restrictions are lifted. Today, we spoke to Sunil Ghai, executive chef and owner of Pickle on Camden Street:
"There’s nothing I love more than going out to my favourite restaurants and sharing a memorable meal with family and friends – it’s one of the things that I am most looking forward to doing when our current reality is no more.
The first thing that I’ll do when we return to normality is make a reservation in my favourite restaurant, China Sichuan in Sandyford. I’ve been going to this restaurant for many years and Kevin Hui is the third generation of his family to run it - he always makes sure that we have a wonderful evening no matter the occasion. Every time we eat there we get a truly authentic Chinese experience and you can understand why this restaurant was awarded a Michelin Plate!

I love to order a selection of starter dishes to share with the table - their hon yu guozi dumplings are delicious - and for main, the steamed whole black sole with ginger and scallions is unforgettable. We’ll celebrate with a bottle (or two) of our favourite wines and who knows, maybe even a bottle of Champagne. Hopefully, this reality won’t be too far away, we can’t wait to get back to Kevin and his amazing team at China Sichuan."
