Where will you eat when everything goes back to normal?

At some point, our world will return to normal - even if it is a new normal. But where will we go for our first night out?

We asked some well-known names in the Irish food and drinks industry to tell us what they're planning when restrictions are lifted. Today, we spoke to Andrew Rudd, owner of Medley private hire venue in Dublin city centre:

"When things get back to normal - well if normality will ever exist again - my perfect first night out would be to have a pint or two of Heineken with my friends in the snug in Bowes Pub on Fleet StreetIt's opposite Medley, and it became our go-to place after work on Fridays. 

That would have to be followed by dinner in Wood Fire Cafe on Blessington Street. It's a hidden gem and Joe never fails to deliver, both on food but also with his infectious personality. Everything is cooked in front of you and I always struggle to know what to start with. There are generally specials which are always amazing.

To start I'd have the half lobster linguine with clams, mussels, San Marzano tomatoes and chilli, with a glass of white wine. That would be followed by The Lucky Tom pizza, consisting of mozzarella, ham, mushrooms, scamorza, black truffle cream, garlic and cracked pepper on a Neapolitan thin crust. 

This would be washed down with whatever wonderful Italian red Joe happened to recommend, which would come with the story of the family member who made it! I would like to think I’d stay out late, but to be honest, I usually have an early start, so I’d head home happy and full."
