6 of our favourite fish dishes

Everything from family-friendly bakes to easy fish burgers.

Versatile, tasty and healthy too, seafood can be the starting point for an endless array of great meals.

If you're keen to get more fish into your diet but are short on inspiration, we've rounded up some of the best recipes on FOOD&WINE, from hearty bakes and stews to quick pop-in-the-oven salmon dishes and easy burgers.

Cod and salmon burgers

Burgers are always a winner and this cod and salmon burger recipe is one you'll come back to again and again. They're served with a zingy remoulade sauce, which can be as hot or as mild as you like.

Honey-roasted salmon with roasted vegetables and baby potatoes

This dish couldn't be easier as everything is done in the oven. The honey glaze gives the salmon lots of flavour while the addition of fresh chilli adds a welcome kick. Paired with roasted veg and baby potatoes, it's a winner.

Green curry with haddock

Mid-week meals should involve minimal faff and this quick and easy fish curry from Donegal Catch is ready in less than half an hour. It teams tasty chunks of fish with creamy coconut milk and a mild Thai green curry paste for a family-friendly dish.

Baked fresh cod with tomato & olives

Another simple, family-friendly dinner option, this recipe uses tomato and basil soup as the base for a zesty sauce. Add in some fresh cold fillets and some baby potatoes and you have a hearty, filling meal.

Fish pie

A good fish pie is right up there on our list of top comfort foods and this recipe from The Oarhouse in Howth is something of a favourite. It's made with hake and smoked haddock and is topped with creamy mashed potatoes.

Manhattan seafood chowder

This delicious seafood chowder from chef John Aungier is more of a stew-like dish rather than a traditional creamy chowder. It's tomato-based and is packed with white fish, mussels and clams but the recipe can be tweaked to suit whatever you have to hand.
