Just some of the restaurants that the FOOD&WINE team have been loving of late.

The Catalina Restaurant, Lough Erne Resort

We here are FOOD&WINE Magazine have always had a soft spot for Noel McMeel and his team at The Catalina Restaurant in Lough Erne. Regularly appearing in our top ten shortlist at the FOOD&WINE Awards, this dining spot is really hard to fault. And a recent visit reminded us why: exceptional service, gorgeous and interesting food – making the most of local ingredients – and a beautiful dining room. That’s all boxes ticked, right?

Glovers Alley by Andy McFadden

The launch of Glovers Alley earlier this year brought a lot of excitement to the team here at FOOD&WINE. We had heard all about the stunning interiors, central location and chef Andy McFadden’s homecoming. When it comes down to it though, what we really wanted to know about was the food. Thankfully, it did not disappoint. The knowledgable and clearly passionate staff made ordering a breeze and we delighted in everything they suggested. May we, in turn, recommend the lamb for mains and give a special mention to the fantastic desserts by pastry chef Aoife Noonan.

We spent a quiet Sunday lunch at Bastible recently and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. We chose the family-style plates for the table and loved everything on offer. It was quite simply, great food done well and for excellent value... just make sure your fellow diners are good at sharing!
