Learn to make your own Old Fashioned cocktail at Bar 1661

The event will kick off on Monday, January 13th.


Bar 1661 on Dublin's Green Street is set to host a series of cocktail-making events with Lot 40 whiskey.

If you've ever harboured a secret desire to become a bartender, then now is your chance to try your hand at the craft as Bar 1661 will host a cocktail making class every Monday evening from 7-8pm until February 10th 2020.

Only open for a year, Bar 1661 was named Ireland's best cocktail bar at the 2019 Irish Craft Cocktail Awards, so they know how to make a mean drink. The bar has teamed up with Lot 40 Canadian rye whiskey to teach the people of Dublin how to make the perfect Old Fashioned cocktail. 

Rye whiskey has been having a real moment lately Lot 40 whiskey launched in Ireland last October and ever since, it has been enjoying a moment in the spotlight. Rye whiskey is a key component in many savoury cocktails, which have started to overtake their sweeter counterparts in popularity.

This Bar 1661 event with Lot 40 whiskey will take place every Monday from January 13th until February 10th, excluding January 27th. On the night, each guest will take part in a demo where they will be shown exactly how to make their own Old Fashioned, before enjoying Bar 1661's version of the drink. Blues guitarist NC Lawlor will be performing throughout the night to keep the party going.
