After a tumultuous year for the Irish hospitality industry, we're delighted to announce that the Food&Wine Restaurant of the Year Awards, sponsored by Rémy Martin, are back for 2021 and will take place in The InterContinental Hotel on Sunday, November 7 2021.
Now that Food&Wine Magazine is back and better than ever, we are delighted to announce that the premier event for Ireland's food and drinks industry will return this November. After taking an unprecedented break in 2020 due to global circumstances, this year's event offers a chance for reconnection and will recognise the resilience shown by Ireland's hospitality industry.
This year's streamlined event, which will take place in The InterContinental Hotel, will highlight the best chefs, restaurants, sommeliers, casual dining locations, and hotel restaurants from around the country. Some new categories this year include food truck of the year, innovator of the year, and more - to see the full list of awards, click here.
This year, winners will be selected by an expert panel led by Food&Wine editor Gillian Nelis. To hear what Gillian had to say about the awards, read on:
"It gives me immense pleasure to update you on our plans for the 2021 Food&Wine Restaurant of the Year awards. When Food&Wine magazine became part of the Business Post Media Group in late 2019, the awards were a key priority, as was bringing the title back into print.
While we achieved the latter, with Food&Wine returning as a free monthly magazine with the Business Post, it is only now, as we see light at the end of the pandemic tunnel, that we can again turn our minds to the awards.
They will take place on Sunday, November 7th at The InterContinental Hotel. Our goal is simple: to pay tribute to the Irish food and drink sector after what has been a stressful and traumatic time, and to recognise the incredible innovation shown by restaurateurs, hoteliers and food producers during the pandemic.
We will gather safely, with a focus on reconnecting with our friends and colleagues over some fantastic food and wine.
I hope to see you there."
As always, tickets are in high demand for this event, with limited room capacity exacerbating this. Please note that in close partnership with The InterContinental Hotel, the Food&Wine team is working hard to create a safe and convivial environment.
Tickets are priced at €150 per person, which includes a drinks reception, followed by a five-course meal prepared exclusively for the Food&Wine Restaurant of the Year Awards by The InterContinental Hotel's head chef Alberto Rossi. Each course will be paired with matching wines from O'Brien's Wines, creating a perfect dining experience.
