An Espresso Martini With A Twist, Because You Deserve It

Pick you up, wind you down...this drink does it all.

The perfect drink to wake up your virtual cocktail hour. Or to kick start the morning, depending how you roll...

It's week eleven of lockdown and if you've not yet mastered the art of espresso martini - well, it's clear we've been having extremely different quarantine experiences. But don't fret, allow me to teach you my ways.

Espresso martinis combine two great things in life: strong coffee and alcohol. It was invented by bartender Dick Bradsell in the late 1980s when someone asked for a drink that would “wake me up, then f*ck me up.” True story. Made with a short shot of freshly brewed espresso, it also requires vodka and Kahlua, and of course plenty of ice. Some people also add sugar syrup to sweeten it up. Intrigued? Then allow me to redirect you the best ever espresso martini recipe - I've been recreating at least twice a week during lockdown.
