If you're looking for something different to try for your next cocktail hour, these classic drinks made with a new Irish whiskey brand could be just the thing.
Launched at the end of 2020, Sailor’s Home was inspired by Ireland’s Atlantic coast and the original sailors’ home in Limerick, which was built with the intention of giving shelter to travelling seafarers.
Crafted by renowned whiskey expert Dr. Jack Ó’Sé, there are three expressions; The Journey (€45), The Horizon (€65) and The Haven (€58) and Sailor’s Home has given us two classic cocktail recipes created around the whiskeys. Give them a go.

The Journey Old Fashioned
Ingredients
- 50ml The Journey
- 10ml 2:1 sugar syrup
- 2 dashes Angostura bitters
Method
- Build in a rocks glass with a large cube of ice and stir.
- Garnish with a twist of orange.

The Horizon Sweet Manhattan
Ingredients
- 60ml The Horizon
- 30ml Sweet Vermouth
- 2.5ml Luxardo maraschino
- 1 dash Angostura bitters
- 1 dash Angostura orange bitters
Method
- Add all ingredients to a mixing glass with ice and stir.
- Strain into a chilled cocktail glass.
- Garnish with a fresh cherry and zest of orange.
