This Christmas, it's got to be Irish!
Small businesses form the backbone of the Irish economy so it’s important that we support them as much as possible this Christmas. While many of us are making the effort to buy Irish and support local businesses when gifting, it’s also important to keep an eye out for small Irish food producers while shopping for our festive feast and treats.
For many of us, the weekly food shop has become somewhat of a quarantine saviour providing distraction and a chance to get out of the house. But what's more, it's also a great opportunity to discover new tastes from local producers which give us the chance to recreate restaurant-worthy nibbles at home while still supporting small businesses.
This Christmas, SuperValu are encouraging shoppers to think Irish before they click or drop in the trolley. Supervalu has long believed in the importance of buying local and Irish and in light of the last eight months, this has become even more important. So much so that they have just launched its new #supportlocal campaign that will be urging consumers to buy Irish this Christmas, supporting their local businesses, the economy and helping to create and keep jobs in communities in Ireland. To make choice a little easier, we've rounded up just a token few of SuperValu’s top picks from their festive food and drink offering, all of which are Irish produced and are sure to go down a treat at any occasion this festive season.
