A round-up of our favourite aprons that are practical for the kitchen, but also chic in design.

Ever find yourself pulling and tugging at your apron when you’re cooking? Kitchens can be hot, stressful environments, which is why chefs like to ensure they’re as comfortable as possible by wearing supportive shoes and comfy pants.

Aprons are something that can drive chefs mad as they often chafe around the neck and sag around the waist, but they are so important to offer protection in the kitchen.

Luckily, we’ve found some options that we really love; they look gorgeous, offer serious protection and are comfortable to wear. These are the aprons we don’t want to take off:

Warren Cross Back Bib Apron

This apron is super stylish but offers cross-back straps to make sure you feel really comfortable when you wear it. The pockets are big enough to store pens, spoons, lighters and everything else you need to get you through a busy service. Get it online from Chef Works, from Coppinger Corporate Uniforms or Nisbets Ireland.

Berkeley Black Denim Bib Apron

This one takes the style stakes up a notch with comfortable cross-back suspender straps that can be customised in a variety of colours. We’d recommend this option for chefs in open kitchens – it's an apron you’ll want to be seen in. Available from Chef Works, Amazon and Nisbets Ireland

Enrich & Endure Teal Cross Over Apron

Easily the most comfortable apron you’ll ever wear. The smock-like fit is loose and lightweight, meaning you won’t overheat, but you’ll still be protected from any spills. We love the teal colour and large pockets, plus the cross-back straps mean there will be no chafing. Find it on the Enrich & Endure website.
