Two Irish Restaurants Named Among The Best At World Luxury Restaurant Awards

SOLE and Aqua took home awards at this year's ceremony


Aqua in Howth and SOLE in Dublin City took home awards at this year’s World Luxury Restaurant Awards. 

Aqua Restaurant and SOLE Seafood and Grill, both in Dublin, took home awards at this year’s prestigious World Luxury Restaurant Awards.

Considered the most prestigious awards event for the luxury dining industry, the World Luxury Restaurant Awards hosted their fourth annual ceremony on July 6 in St. Petersburg, Russia. Winners are chosen by an online public vote.

Aqua Restaurant in Howth, Co Dublin

Aqua Restaurant in Howth took home two awards this year: best luxury seafood restaurant in the world and best luxury waterside restaurant in Europe. This is Aqua’s fourth year in a row winning best luxury seafood restaurant in the world.

Charlie Smith, manager at Aqua, told The Irish Independent how much the award meant to the whole team.

"It's a huge honour, it's the fourth consecutive year we've won, and it's by public vote. Unfortunately, none of us were able to attend the ceremony but we're absolutely thrilled. It's a huge boost for the team – we always try and promote high standards. Its unique selling point is the location, overlooking Dublin Bay. It's the whole package. We're hugely grateful to our loyal customers, you know it's a public vote. Next January we're celebrating our 20th birthday - we could not have done that without the customers We're certainly aiming for five in a row."

On Facebook, Aqua said that they are “absolutely delighted” with the honour:

SOLE Seafood & Grill, South William Street, Dublin

SOLE in Dublin city centre took home the best luxury seafood restaurant in Europe award. Richie Wilson, executive head chef at SOLE, told The Irish Post that it was the whole team's effort that helped the restaurant take home this prestigious award.

“The team at SOLE are absolutely blown away. Since opening in 2018, the whole team has worked so hard to raise the standard of seafood in Dublin and offer patrons a top-quality dining experience with Irish produce on top the top of our agenda. To win such a prestigious award is such a testament to the whole team’s passion and dedication."
